Updates and Roadmap Hub

This hub is the calendar for BLACKWOOD. The game is still upcoming. Steam’s release date is September 16, 2026 for Windows, with Act 1 as the shipping slice. If you need a deep dive on that night, open release date. If you need the multi-year plan, open roadmap. For a systems-and-tone read before you buy, open the pre-release preview. For the Cologne booth and Future Games Show date reveal, open the Gamescom 2026 recap. After launch, patch notes will be added as child pages under this same hub instead of as a social-media scavenger hunt.

What is already locked in public

From the official release announcement and the Steam listing:

  • Developer: AttritoM7 Productions
  • Publishers: IZilla Games and AttritoM7 Productions
  • Platform: PC via Steam, Windows 64-bit only in the current listing
  • Mode: single-player
  • Language: English interface, audio, and subtitles
  • Act 1 date: September 16, 2026
  • Act 1 launch price: $24.99
  • Later acts: free for existing owners
  • Base price after Act 2: $29.99 for new buyers
  • Base price after Act 3: $34.99 for new buyers
  • Act 2 window: March 2027
  • Act 3 window: September 2027
  • Main missions: 4 in Act 1, 4 in Act 2, 5 in Act 3, plus side content in each act

That is enough to plan a purchase. It is not enough to pretend a 1.0 patch list exists. Anyone posting “day-one hotfix notes” before the build is live is guessing.

How to read this wiki around the launch

Before September 16, use Getting Started and system requirements as the practical pages. Use combat and store management as systems study. After September 16, come back here first. If a patch changes monthly bills, takedown healing, or controller prompts, the child page will say so and the relevant guide will follow. We will not silently rewrite history to match a new build.

Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, leaderboards, and full controller support are already listed. Those are shipping features, not rumours. Stats and family sharing flags may still shift around launch because unreleased games often do. Treat them as “listed today.”

Demo and events

A first demo build was shown at Gamescom 2026 at an Infernozilla booth in partnership with IZilla Games (Hall 10.2, 26–30 August). That was a hands-on slice, not a public Steam demo you can download today unless the studio opens one later. The official Gamescom recap (Steam, 2 September 2026) is the event page. Do not confuse booth footage with the September 16 candidate. The release announcement also states BLACKWOOD is not an open-world game.

Playtests happened earlier in development, including an in-office session the studio posted about. Feedback from those sessions is why accessibility options such as camera comfort and adjustable difficulty are on the store page. They are not a promise that every booth complaint is already fixed.

What we will not put on this hub

  • Fake patch version numbers
  • Invented weapon nerfs
  • “Leaked” Act 2 story beats
  • Codes, because this is not a live-service Roblox title
  • Console release dates the Steam page does not list

If BLACKWOOD later announces a PlayStation or Xbox SKU, it will be a new child page with a date and a publisher quote. Until then, PC Steam is the platform.

The Story hub stays spoiler-light on purpose. This hub stays factual on purpose. Together they should answer “when” and “who” without mixing those jobs.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is BLACKWOOD playable today?

No. Act 1 is scheduled for September 16, 2026 on Steam. See release date.

Will owners pay for Act 2?

No, according to the official announcement. Future acts are free updates. The store price rises for new buyers. Details are on the roadmap.

Where will patch notes go?

On child pages under this hub after launch. We will not invent notes to fill the gap.

Is there a public demo?

A demo was shown at Gamescom 2026. A downloadable Steam demo is not listed as a live product on the store page at the time of writing.
