BLACKWOOD Roadmap
Three acts, one purchase, two years of planned story.
BLACKWOOD is a three-act single-player campaign sold as one game. The official release post is the source for every date on this page. If a later Steam news item changes a window, this URL will change. Until then, treat Act 1’s September 16, 2026 stamp as hard and the 2027 months as planned. Pair this page with release date for price and with Getting Started for how a day works inside whatever act you are in.
The published plan
| Slice | Window | Main missions | Who pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Act 1 | September 16, 2026 | 4 | $24.99 at launch |
| Act 2 | March 2027 | 4 | Free update for owners |
| Act 3 | September 2027 | 5 | Free update for owners |
Side missions and extra content sit in each act on top of those main counts. The studio was careful to say the numbers are main story missions only. If a creator tells you Act 1 is “four missions and done,” they skipped the side-activity sentence.
New buyers pay more after later acts land: $29.99 after Act 2, $34.99 after Act 3. Owners who bought at Act 1 keep the game. That is the commercial structure. It is also why this wiki talks about Act 1 as a chapter, not as a complete novel.
What “free updates” does and does not mean
It means you should not need a second SKU for Act 2 or Act 3 if you already own BLACKWOOD. It does not mean a live-service calendar of weekly events. It does not mean Roblox-style codes. It does not mean the studio cannot slip a month. March 2027 and September 2027 are planned windows, not Steam countdown timers yet.
Post-launch support in the same announcement includes bugs, technical issues, and quality fixes. That is a live-ops sentence for a single-player game, not a battle pass. Patch notes will be filed under the Updates hub.
How to plan your save across acts
Unique weapon instances, shop upgrades, and relationship flags with Amelie are the kind of state you do not want to throw away between acts. We do not have a published statement that every Act 1 gun carries forward, but the “one purchase, full game” language implies a continuing save. Play Act 1 as if Anton Blackwood still has two years of story left. Do not vendor a modular platform you like just because the Act 1 credits rolled. See weapon customization.
The monthly bill loop is an Act 1-taught habit. If later acts keep the calendar, players who never learned store management will hit the same two-strike game over with better guns. Learn it now.
Content you should not expect in Act 1
- The remaining nine main missions (4 + 5)
- A promised console port (not listed)
- Extra languages in the client (English only today)
- A public, always-on multiplayer layer (single-player listing)
You should expect the double life, the shop, Clean Cash and Dirty Cash, takedowns, and modular guns, because those are the features already on Steam. Combat and dual economy will still apply in later acts unless a patch says otherwise.
Events already behind us
Reveal was October 2025. Gameplay trailer followed. “An Ordinary Day” arrived in February 2026. Melee and guns deep dives landed in 2026. System requirements went public in August 2026. Gamescom 2026 hosted a booth demo. The release-date trailer locked September 16. That sequence is how a small studio talks to Steam wishlists. It is not a content roadmap for your save — it is a marketing timeline. Keep the two charts separate.
How this page stays honest
When Act 2’s date becomes a Steam day instead of “March 2027,” the table updates. When a main-mission count changes, the table updates and we note the old number. We will not pad this roadmap with fake seasons. If you need official social posts, use links. If you need to know whether your PC survives Act 1 tonight, that is still system requirements.
Three acts, thirteen main missions in total if the counts hold, one protagonist, one shop, two wallets. That is the shape. Everything else is a patch away from being rewritten, which is why this URL exists.
